- Only GECA certified* furniture is deemed “eco innovative” by the Green Building Council (GBCA).
- New ACCC guidelines advise that: “firms which make environmental or “green” claims should ensure that their claims are scientifically sound and appropriately substantiated”.
- GECA certification helps you to distinguish between “green-washing” and verifiable green performance.

- GECA certification verifies compliance with GECA’s “Furniture & Fittings Standard” which protects:
- forests from illegal logging and degradation of high conservation value ecosystems.

- workers from exploitation and unsafe work practises.
*Integrity of GECA certification for upholstered furniture
- All fabric comprising more than 10 % of the total weight of the upholstered product must be certified by the Good Environmental Choice Label, the EU Flower label or the Nordic Swan label or satisfy the requirements of GECA Standard No. 19: Textiles.
- All fabric used on upholstered furniture intended to be classed as “GECA certified” must be supplied with a 5 year commercial warranty provided in writing by the fabric supplier.
